Unique strengthens compliance commitment

Unique Window Systems has joined the PLC Scheme from ER Certification, reinforcing its commitment to manufacturing high-quality, thermally efficient windows and doors, all backed by independently verified performance information.

Designed to help window and door manufacturers and installers demonstrate compliance with Part L of the Building Regulations, the scheme simplifies the process of assessing and verifying product energy ratings and U-values and is backed by independent certification and impartial auditing. U-values reviewed under the scheme are also checked and verified by ERC Testing, a UKAS-accredited laboratory.

“Our customers need confidence in both the quality of the windows and doors we manufacture and the information we provide to support them. Joining the PLC Scheme is another way of demonstrating that we take those responsibilities seriously.”

For Unique, joining the PLC Scheme reflects the company’s commitment to making quality and compliance integral to its manufacturing operation.

Discussing the company’s membership of the scheme, Ashleigh Crane, Head of Compliance at Unique Window Systems, commented: “Our customers need confidence in both the quality of the windows and doors we manufacture and the information we provide to support them. Joining the PLC Scheme is another way of demonstrating that we take those responsibilities seriously.

“We understand that installers are more likely to trust a fabricator that is a member of an accredited scheme such as the PLC Scheme and is officially recognised for complying with stringent energy efficiency standards.”

“We are continually looking at how we can strengthen our offering, whether through manufacturing quality, product performance or customer support…”

Ashleigh Crane, Head of Compliance, Unique Window Systems

Ashleigh continues: “For Unique, compliance is a key part of delivering a dependable service. We want customers to know that the products they choose are reinforced by a thorough approach to quality and accurate performance information.”

The PLC Scheme’s website provides detailed data on each approval, offering transparency and valuable information for potential customers. Homeowners interested in energy efficiency and sustainability also see the labels attributed to the certification on the finished products, providing reassurance about the energy efficiency credentials of their investment.

Ashleigh concluded: “We are continually looking at how we can strengthen our offering, whether through manufacturing quality, product performance or customer support, and the PLC Scheme brings those priorities together, reinforcing our commitment to supplying thermally efficient windows and doors with the evidence that our customers need to specify them confidently.”
