Unique secure contract in £37 million Buxton Crescent restoration project

Unique Window Systems have teamed up with international contractors VINCI Construction as part of construction work to transform the Grade I listed Buxton Crescent into a five-star spa hotel.

The £37 million project will see the iconic building converted into a 79-bedroom hotel with a new visitor interpretation centre, a state-of-the-art thermal, natural mineral water spa and seven specialist shops.

Unique will be supplying doors and a curtain walling system towards the Buxton Crescent project; fabricating and installing the highly acclaimed Schüco system. The doors will be Schüco’s ADS 65 HD; a system which offers a striking feature of the facade with its slim face width. The classic, timeless design of the ADS 65 HD will fit in seamlessly with the FW 50+ curtain walling system, also from Schüco. The FW 50+ is a highly reputable facade system and one of the most popular in Europe.

The long-awaited main programme of work on the redevelopment of the Grade-I-listed Crescent began earlier this year. The restoration project will bring the building back into use for the first time in over 25 years, attracting many more people to the town and in turn providing a huge boost to the local economy. Unique’s work on the project is set to start later this year.
