Unique Window Systems recently collaborated with UCL and De Montfort University Leicester (DMU) to support an exhibition which raised awareness of the enclosed and limited space afforded to children in temporary accommodation.
The British Science Festival in Leicester celebrates the people, stories and ideas at the heart of science. This year’s project, supported by the CHAMPIONS team along with the HEAR US Project, saw a fantastic exhibition take place, highlighting the injustice of just under 600,000 children in the UK who are either homeless or at risk of homelessness.
Unique Window Systems supported the project by offering one of our vehicles where much of this artwork was displayed, offering an unusual experience that demonstrates the enclosed and limited space afforded to children in temporary accommodation.
By combining artwork, ceramics, poems and more from children in Leicester and around the country, the project has allowed children to share their stories and perspectives on what makes a house a home and how the arts-based approaches can facilitate safe conversations.
